      On cold mornings such as today, there is nothing I crave more than a warm bowl of oatmeal for breakfast! There are many packaged oatmeal's on the market that are sold with added sugars and other ingredients that are unnecessary. Instead, I buy organic oatmeal from a health food store and make my own bowl of awesomeness

2 cup water
- 1 cup oatmeal 
- 1 apple, large
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon 
- 1/4 cup pecans 
1. Bring water to a boil, then turn to medium or low heat and add the oatmeal. 

2. Add the apples when oatmeal is half way done.
3. Add half of the cinnamon just before the oatmeal and apples are done. 
4. When 95% of the water has evapourated put into a bowl and sprinkle remaining cinnamon on top with crushed pecans. 

 Swap or add different ingredients for fun new flavours: 
- almonds or walnuts instead of pecans 
- dates, raisins, or dried cranberries
- almond milk or other milk alternatives
- soy yogurt or other dairy free yogurts
- agave nectar
