CHUNKY MONKEY SMOOTHIE AND ICE CREAM


      This recipe is a great way to 'give in' to your sweet tooth cravings. The Chunky Monkey Smoothie is a healthy treat full of nutrients and contains one of my favourite supoerfoods, CACAO NIBS.

     Cacao nibs are roasted cocoa beans that have been separated from their husks and broken into smaller pieces. Cacao nibs contain all the goodness that chocolate has to offer.  They contain more antioxidants than blueberries and up to four times the amount of antioxidants in green tea!  (see more benefits in Health and Wellness post on Cacao Nibs) 

     This smoothie is crunchy because of the nibs. If you want to drink down a smoothie without having to chew yummy pieces of chocolate then replace the cacao nibs with the same amount of cacao powder. 


INGREDIENTS
- 1 banana, frozen
- 1 cup almond milk (or water)
- 1 tbsp cacao nibs (or cacao powder)
- 1 tbsp peanut butter


 PREPARATION
1. Place all ingredients in blender and blend.
 

 FEEL LIKE ICE CREAM INSTEAD?????

INGREDIENTS
- 2 banana, frozen
- 1/4 cup almond milk (or water)
- 2 tbsp cacao nibs
- 2 tbsp peanut butter

 PREPARATION
1. Place all ingredients in blender and blend.

2. Eat right away or put in freezer for no longer than 20 minutes.
